Edie's Story

Edie’s Story - From Santa’s Helper to Assistant Snowsports Manager

I started working at Chill Factore in 2015 as a Santa’s Helper. I had just graduated from University where I graduated with a BA in Theatre and Performance and I wanted to find a place that would help me grow and develop my passion through theatre.I also had a huge passion for snowsports so it seemed like the perfect fit.

After the Christmas period ended, I was offered a job on the Guest Services team helping people book lessons, giving advice and working with stock. Being able to advise and share my passion for snowsports with our guests was super rewarding and through my time as a Guest Services team member I developed my own professional skills too.

In July 2017, I was promoted to Guest Experience Supervisor. This was a huge leap in my professional development and I was given opportunities that I never thought I would have. I was leading projects (Christmas Operations Lead), I was responsible for all stock levels (ordering, counting, restocking) and I was given training sessions around leadership, management and prioritisation.

In May 2019, I was promoted again to Snowsports Assistant Manager (my current role) which involved monitoring guest satisfaction, developing lessons and scheduling instructors. I hope to develop my leadership skills further in my new role by being exposed to new people and new challenges.

One of the things I love most about working at Chill Factore is the team around me. Everyone I encounter everyday are caring, passionate and hard working. It really is like one big family here at Chill Factore!
