- The Trafford Centre

The Trafford Centre
You could spend an entire day at The Trafford Centre finding interesting and exciting things for all the family to be happy with! The Trafford Centre is one of the largest shopping centres in Europe, with over 200 shops, but it also has plenty of places to eat, with more than 60 cafes and restaurants.
After a day of walking around your favourite shops and eating at your most-loved restaurants, you could finish off a brilliant day with a trip to the cinema. That’s right, The Trafford Centre also has an Odeon cinema!
So treat the kids to a family fun film, plenty of popcorn, hotdogs and sweets!
Sea Life Manchester
If you’re all shopped out, then right next door to The Trafford Centre is Sea Life Manchester, an aquarium full of incredible species of underwater animals.
There’s an amazing ocean tunnel to walk through an enormous tank, making you feel like you’re walking among the fish, sharks, stingrays and more!
As well as that, there are 30 display tanks and more than 5,000 creatures to gaze at. Not only is it a brilliant way to spend an afternoon with the kids, but they’ll also get to learn about animals and underwater life that they’d never previously known about.
Chill Factore
Next door again is Chill Factore! Hit the slopes and enjoy some snowy fun at Chill Factore, where you’ll find an amazing 180-metre snow slope to ski or board down.
Don’t worry if you’re a beginner, though, as there are family learning lessons to take part in, as well as a beginner slope standing at 40m - perfect for first-timers! There’s also a restaurant at Chill Factore so, in between slope sessions, you and the kids can enjoy some warm, delicious food.
Legoland Discovery Centre
Legoland Discovery Centre is made up of a series of interactive features to immerse kids into a world where their imagination can run wild. Featuring a whole host of exciting attractions from the Kingdom Quest ride to an amazing recreation of the North West’s most iconic buildings, Legoland Discovery Centre provides fun for LEGO fans young and old, and fantastic educational benefits too.
Also, there is just one entry fee, with all attractions included in the cost!
Emirates Old Trafford
Fancy a day out at the cricket? If your kids love the sport then having a day out at Old Trafford cricket ground is a brilliant way of spending some time together.
England regularly play international fixtures at Old Trafford, both one-day games and five-day tests. Lancashire Cricket Club also plays there and provides great entertainment for people of all ages.
Cricket is often associated with grown men going out for a day of drinking, but families are more than welcome to attend and will enjoy themselves too!
Red House Farm
Are your kids animal lovers? Then treat them to a trip to a local farm. Red House Farm is full of farmyard animals that children can interact with and learn about.
There are also plenty of opportunities to play outdoors and burn lots of energy. With a cake shop on-site, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake while the children play outside - much better than being stuck at home staring at tablets and television screens!
Walkden Gardens
A beautiful place to spend an afternoon in the sunshine, Walkden Gardens may not be first on the kids’ list of things to do, but they’ll still enjoy themselves nonetheless.
Taking in the scenery, smelling the beautiful flowers and getting some essential exercise outdoors, Walkden Gardens is a great place to spend some time this summer.
Land of Play
The final thing on our list of fun things to do in the summer is Land of Play. This is an indoor children’s play centre that features a Go-Kart track and a children’s party venue. Not only great for a day out with the kids, but for hosting a birthday party for all their friends!
If they don’t fancy the Go-Kart track, there’s a fun soft play area to run around in with other kids.
