How to Organise a Group Trip on a Budget

There really is nothing better than skiing with a group of friends - especially in Andorra.

Of course, organising group holidays can be difficult, particularly when trying to stick to a budget, but it doesn’t have to be a frustrating experience. Follow these tips from our friends at Neilson Holidays, and make the planning easy. Epic ski areas, countless pistes and cheap après - it’s all at your fingertips in Andorra.

Book Early

Neilson offer brilliant deals and prices for early bird bookers, and with Andorra already being tax-free, saving yourself money is easy. You can get half price lift passes for everyone in your group if you book a Neilson Ski Holiday to Andorra before Friday 10 November.

Booking early is also the best way to secure your preferred accommodation, on your preferred dates. Neilson’s Chalet Hotel Casale and Chalet Motxo are both popular places to stay in the famous resort of El Tarter, and with the friendly Neilson staff just a phone call away, arranging accommodation for your group couldn’t be easier.

Travel Outside of School Holidays

Prices are always higher during the school holidays, so it’s definitely best to avoid these weeks (if you can). Generally speaking, January and mid-March are the cheapest times to travel to Andorra, and also tend to have quieter slopes and smaller lift queues! Conditions are still excellent, and with lovely temperatures in March, longer lunches overlooking the slopes of El Tarter are definitely on the cards. With the excellent food and drink prices, you won’t find better value for money anywhere else.

And even if you can’t avoid the school holidays, Andorra is still a great option. When booking with Neilson, all children under the age of 12 receive a free lift pass with every pre-booked adult lift pass when booking, plus kids aged 5 years and younger get all lift passes free in Andorra - collected at the lift pass office.

Families can also enjoy a range of childcare options at Neilson’s Hotel Del Clos, so travelling with the family will still be affordable and enjoyable - for everyone! Plus children under the age of 15 can receive a discount when sharing a room with at least 2 adults in Neilson hotels and chalet hotels, saving even more money for your travels.

The More the Merrier

As is the case with most things, the more people you have on your group ski trip, the bigger the discounts you’ll be entitled to. For larger groups, the organiser will even get a free lift pass when 12+ people pre-book a lift pass with Neilson, and with the current Half Price Lift Pass offer, the money saved will go a long, long way. So get more for your money and take all your friends along to the epic Grandvalira ski area this winter. You won’t be disappointed (or out of pocket) - it’s a win-win!
